Driver Madness

whatever..blablabala.... the mystical " average user" know much more than you give them credit....now if its your Grandma or mom.. then they dont care about the ADVANCED TAB. Hmmm how about your below average website...like..... but no ET is a good site that "average" users dont go too. whatever....

What a whiner! ATi have already removed one of their tabs (see 3.8's DirectX/OpenGL combination) and as for the average user, if they don't know how to get to the advance tab, I don't think they really care what settings they are using as long as it works! (As the default settings do quite well for everything.) If his poor brain is getting confused by having to deal with a few extra tabs, maybe he should have a lie down and take a break from using computers. ;)

You guys are not being fair. We might know how to adjust the settings, but a lot of first time users dont even know they exist or what they are. Making it a little easier wouldnt hurt. A flash demo could be included on the original driver disk to explain what AA and AF are and how they affect performance. Are mip map adjustments really needed now ? They dont really help performance that much . Im sure there are things out there that you dont know about that would need explaining to you.

I haven't read the article, nor will I be, but... If ATi, NVIDIA or whomever were to provide no tabs then we'd probably see an Extremetech article complaining about the lack of configuration options. Chalk up yet another pointless link in the news

How would they even know the settings can be changed ? They arent in a very easy to find place. Remember some people are totally confused by PCs
