It's Diskeeper, yes! But the built-in version was developed with the help of Microsoft!!!
unknown

Comment from the author of this thing: Come on, guys, you are so sarcastic :)! At least, you are trying hard enough :) I know as well as you do that it's Diskeeper "lite" built into XP! But try: 1) uninstalling your 7.0; 2) defragging with the built-in Diskeeper; 3) Rebooting! NOW WHAT?????????????
unknown
Try disabling or setting the Diskeeper service to manual. Are you using boot-time or frag guard? These are features loaded on boot that the regular defrag doesnt have.
unknown
USE OO Defrag 4 & all your problems are gone...
unknown
"...With Diskeeper installed, it always shows "No"..." Simply not true (No Sarcasm).

From me again: O&O and Perfect Disk are even worse!!! They are a lot slower than XP Defrag! And their "smart" file placement is crap! That's because at some time some portion of your files becomes "frequently modified". Tomorrow they become "rarely modified". So what? Move them from the beginning to the end of the disk every now and then? This isn't worthwhile. These defraggers are just made by people who succeeded in making money by developing such "advanced" defragmenting technologies that common users don't need at all!

Ad once again from me: I didn't use features like Pagefile frag guard or MFT guard and once I installed Diskeeper 7.0 I put DKService to manual start. Still yours, Dmitry

For all of you who have Diskeeper, and the value is "Yes" at the same time: It must have been the built-in defragger that defragmented the boot files and placed the value "Yes" into the registry. Try manually setting this value to "No", then defragment your drive with DK 7. What? Has it changed? No way! Because it seems like DK 7 doen't even look in layout.ini, which is located in c:WindowsPrefetch. Now try uninstalling your DK7. Defrag with the native one. I'm sure you'll notice a shorter boot-up process. I did notice it not only on my copmputer, but on two PCs of my friends! Just give it a try!
