Why?

Yeah! Why ??? Almost everything needs DirectX. Not just games.

though it's daft this comes out now when most will be installing dx 9.0c there IS a demand for this product, sometimes people do decide to downgrade their directX version (strange but true) , or completely reinstall to fix problems , wich cannot be acheived (only rarely sometimes in the case of the latter fortunately ) without removing the previous version.
