...I don't agree again. Funny thing, someone used your article in an argument against me last night...I have GOT to start attending them staff meetings!

If objects on the screen are missing or look messed up then that is ofcourse not good, but if nvidia finds a way to speed up the card with the drivers, then let them, as long as the image quality is good. Doesnt really matter howthe driver works, as long as it does its job, and that is make the card work its best. I dont think theres a way of "cheating" with drivers in a benchmark, because all drivers are different, just like cars, you upgrade a car and go race with it, no one says "hey, you got nitus oxide, your cheating". So drivers that dont render pixels you dont see isnt cheating, just a new way of doing stuff so its faster.

"You seem to have forgotten how many games will come out which will use the D3 engine. All this games will show better performance on nvidia hardware than on ATI. " oh and you know how many have licenced the doom3 engine?.. theres only a single title i can think of. at this point i think the HL2 engine will be prefered much more, if not for graphics, then the prilliant physics engine!.

yea: sheeps are white, and the mad hatter runs naked in the cornfields...

thats opengl to ya.. each graphics hardware has its own ogl extentions, making it a poor platform compared to a more unified DX platform..

the question is: How can D3 be a valid test if it its documentation declares that the game performs better on one platform than another. this makes D3 one of the least usefull benchmark platforms. it would be ok to compare cards by ati with other cards from ati.. or nvidia for that matter.. but thats how usefull it gets. you cant base a benchmark on such a flawed background.
