There seems to be some confusion as to what a Z Buffer is. It stores the depth information of vertices in a 3D scene. A 32 bit Z buffer does not consist of 24 bit Z buffer + 8 bit alpha channel. Only when referring to colour depth would you have an alpha channel. Furthermore, it is possible to have 32 bit colour without an alpha channel it's just that it would be pointless since we cannot distinguish between more than 16.7 million (the number that 24 binary digits can represent) different colors. So graphics chip vendors stopped colour variations at 24 bit and used the next 8 bits to represent transparency. A stencil buffer is most often used to create shadows in 3D games. With a 24 bit Z buffer, vertices can be sorted into any one of 16.7 million positions from the camera to the horizon in the 3D environment. This is quite a lot and more than sufficient for current scenes.
No ARtifacts and no problems in UT,Black & White,Half-life,Counter-strike,Tribes2. EXCELLENT DRIVERS..as far as that guy saying about z=buffer, mine shows 32bit with the 22.50, but 24bit with 21.85..weird.
I reinstalled the last reference driver, creative's changes the the control panel and put on the 22.50 again (im the the guy at the top of the comments).
this removed the creative logo and changes to the display properties, and further increased my 3dmark 2001 dcore to 3121 !
But i HAVE noticed bugs or 'artifacts' whatever you call them...
I got it to work. When I launch the TV app, I have to pull up another window of something else to get it to sync or something... Hope they get this fixed.
Well I downloaded these yesterday and in 3D Mark 2001 got about a 40 point increase and everything looked really good graphically... BUT, when i tried a few games was a different story.. Giants was totally unplayable, the screen would just scramble.... Even EverQuest was unplayable.....
From what i understand these drivers are really meant for the Nforce Mobos anyway.......
I have a 850P3, 384MB sdram, 440BX mobo, Geforce 3 OCed to 220/520, stripped down Windows 98se used for gaming only.
I've got the TV Wonder running under Win XP and 21.85 and everything is fine. I had sync issues under 21.83... I'm going to stick with 21.85 for now. That ATI card is picky when it comes to Nvidia stuff... :)

I gained 192 marks in 3DM2001 (7190 -> 7382)
And the biggest improvement:
I can exit DAoC without my system restarting!! WOOHOO!
and 22.50 is the fastest.,...
