Creative's X-Fi
Rosco
To all the nay sayers about Creatives drivers. I spent the past 6 years gaming with everything other than a Creative sound card. I've used Diamond sound cards, onboard audio and my last was a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. Turtle Beach hasn't bothered to update their Santa Cruz driveres since 2002, and its worthless. I just bought a Audigy 2 sound card this very week and I'm here to tell you I will never go back to using anything else. The latest drivers for the Audigy 2 are rock solid and sound great in every game and app I have installed. I'm kicking myself for listening to these puny little whiny comments about how bad Creative and their drivers are, these comments are all full of bullshit.

I think that pretty much sums up the reasons for a lot of the complaints regarding Creative.

I've heard of this before, which I thought was odd myself. But after I installed my Audigy 2 I downloaded the latest web updates from Creative and installed them, but was never required to have the original CD in the drive.

indeed you do not need the CD again .... but what the "problem" is, is that you cannot DL the CD with all the latest stuff included ... but I did it myself ... Downloaded the most recent CD i found from edonkey integrated the EAX4driver and last time there was a link to audigy ZS CD ... taking these apps and integrating it into the CD give you a very recent CD but its not that comfortable when I once asked creative for a new CD a RMA process was initiated ... maybe the X-Fi drivers are unified, too and you just need a copy of this CD to have the most recent stuff
