Coolermaster Hyper6 full review
Chernobyl
Hi all this review contains very useful information, but the writer has not finished the comparison! The ambient temperatures used to test each heat sink range from 19.5C to over 27C. This isnt so bad, but there is nothing to show the true differences between each heatsinks final temperatures under the loads. This does make a different picture if the Degrees C difference from Ambient to 50 and 100W load is considered instead. From this the actual degrees C/W can be calculated (which you would assume is the whole point of the article !!!) Taking into consideration how loud the Coolermaster Hyper6 is, its not the most ideal heatsink. The absolute ideal winner (from the figures given) is the Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu . Here are the normalised heat figures for them both: ...............................delta50W delta100W Loudness Coolermaster High ....12.4 ........23.4 ..........Very Coolermaster Low .....14.4 ........27.1 ..........Med Zalman ......................12.4 ........24.9 ..........Low Soz about the dots, its very hard to format data! As can be clearly seen, for a tiny bit less performance than the Coolermaster on High (Loud) you can have a Zalman Running quiet. Much much quieter and better cooling than the Coolermaster set to quiet! No competion really. Also by looking at the normalised temperatures, its easier to see the results for the Cooljag (high) CJC66IC-A are invalid (the low temps are higher than the high temps)

Oh pants, sorry chaps, I missed the last page of the review where they say most of the above :) However, I still think they should have highlighted the Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu Cooler as the very best of both worlds. Their analysis fails to even mention it !!!
