this cracks me up. ESRB was started by the ESA.. heres a quote from the ESA website: The ESA works with government at all levels to make the voice of its members heard on a wide range of crucial legislative and public policy issues, including intellectual property protection, content regulation, and efforts to regulate the Internet. they need to get off this subject already. its okay for us to see the likes of a once young britney spears dressed in a schoolgirl outfit singing "hit me baby one more time" but a Rated M game that has this certain adult content in it is suddenly a scandel. sounds like we're seeing future platforms for election fodder. sure it should have been rated A for adults.. but teens and what not will still get their hands on a hot selling title regardless. and besides.. we're talking game engine animation, its not like it cuts to a full colour dvd format video of adults having sex!

It's been like this forever, especially in the states. The ridducules "fear" (or whatever you want to call it) that certain things such as blocky polygons having 'sex' is bad but violence is ok. Further more how those scenes somehow would be more disturbing than the violence in the game is beyond me. Seeing a character beating someone to the ground with a baseball bat, then continuing to beat the guy on the ground... yeah, the sex scenes is the problem. It's not a kids game though, what *is* the problem?

The ironic thing is all the "controversy" over this only serves to make people more aware such a mod/cheat exists. I bet downloads of these mods/cheats has gone way up since it hit the mainstream media. "Won't someone think of the children!" as Reverend Lovejoy's wife would say.

You know whats funny about this? In europe its the complete opposite. Sex is good and every children gets bombarded with naked asses, tits and everything else in normal TV, magazines, news papers etc etc. You already notice the result very well. girls know how to "catch" guys and use it extremely soon, girls are only "meat" for some guys because of all the sex around them, lots of girls love to play with guys and think they are above men because they simply exploit their sexual drive, etc. in the US that problem is nowhere as big as here. BUT violence is totally prohibited. if you see a little blood splatter in an horror movie, its all over and they will cut it out that bad so in the end the one scene you will see the gun at the head of someone and in the next scene the movie is over. even adult rated dvds are ***** cut like they are for 6 year old children.........

oh we have our share of sexual content in ad's etc. no real nudity though of course. but we got both sex and viloence, and drugs.. take a pill, screw something/one, kill kill kill. it just amazes me how people in power decide on what to attack and for what reason. we're mature enough to see slinky women, guns and drugs, but you cant cuss on tv?! (light words sure, but as a rule bleeped out) if one only had exposure to our society via tv, you'd think every man has six pack ab's, and every woman looks like shes a perfect 10, and only a handfull of "heavy girls" the funny thing is, Rockstar's sales probably went up a good bit after all this free publicity. i agree with TSthomas, more people learned about this mod via all this coverage than anywhere else i bet.

That's not entirly true. The view on violence in Europe is mixed. It's not one extreme either way actually. Anything made for adults is just that and considered "anything goes" basically. The riddicules mentality of trying to get rid of all sex/violence even if the product is made for a group of people that clearly does not care is not present in Europe. The correct product for the correct viewing audience basically.
