I can tell you if you have the Surfboard modems it DOES work. If you read what these guys posted its at the providers TFTP and if you have some sense you can uncap it fairly fast. Gotta be careful what speeds you choose because they are lookin out for these bandwidth differences and will turn you off. Currently most providers are just doing automatic scans of the Network and resetting any modems that are different from the expectations.

Its too obvious that the more bandwidth you hand out the more that is used by the ISP.. common sense man. Try it you might enjoy it! Its a fact there are areas that have more users then others and these locations that are more populated DO get a lesser download due to the nature of sharing. I really dont know why I even posted but I thought you might need alittle knowledge. And take it from me.. I work for AT&T(yea it sux, but we suck less) and this is my job. Data consultant.
