wasnt Audigy 2 NX sorta like Extigy 2? (with the DD passhtru removed) maybe they ditched the extigy name alltogether. should prolly expect Audigy 4 in PCI-e x1 form aswell.

Sound card upgrades are all the same these days. The features don't justify the purchase imo. What does Creative promise us now, 8.1 surround sound, and EAX 5.0? [That at best sounds marginally improved, and most non-audiophiles wouldn't notice any difference]. Most audio cards still manage to drag down the performance of games considerably [unless you have the best high end rig]. Upgrading these cards dosen't give you a big boost such as upgrading to the latest GeForce card would. I wonder how long can Creative continue to hype their 'never ending line of EAX' features. What I would like to see is a card that gives a big boost of performance, I wonder if PCI-X will provide this. Some time ago I did a test with Quake 3 - removed all sound all together from the system, and the benchmark score jumped a good 80FPS! Makes me wonder just how other games are being 'dragged down' because of sound. Why don't they give us performance increases instead of the never ending line of EAX crap?
