Works on my R9000 (which is an 8500 with a texture unit removed.) Are you using some really old driver? I wouldn't worry either way, this app is fairly useless, it offers only the settings from the official panel, and just moves them to your systray (yay?? like there isnt enough crap there already) if you want fast access to tweaks use a profile based one like radlinker or rage3d.
