My quake 3 score at 16x12 with 4xAA and 16xAF went up from 127 fps to 141fps. Sapphire Radeon 9800 non-pro. I did experience 3dmark03 rendering errors, and flashed back to 9800 pro bios. The clocks remained the same for "pro" and for "xt" bios used. (412/365). So yes, there is performance gain, and artefacts too.

gshapiro, as you could have noticed, the clocks were set to the same value 412/365 for both types of bios, pro and "XT". under XT bios, fps boost in Quake 3 was about 10%. i could not see any artefacts in Quake 3, but I did see them in 3dmark03.
