I bought an fx5950 ultra about a week ago just to see what it was about nvidiots and their undying support for a crappy company that releases crappy products. Is it true that nvidia is junk like most websites claim or is it some sort of internet bias to naturaly dislike a company because they released one or two products that were not up to snuff? Well let me tell you, all the bugs that were in my games beforehand with my 9800np were still there with the 5950, some of them were even worse such as jedi academy and elite force2. AA in D3D on the 5950 was absolutely pitiful, and I mean *pitiful*, completely useless, completely worthless."the way its meant to be played"? what a joke. GL support was great though, better than my 9800np, but when running just 4x aa in gl the frame rates would drop significantly, they wouldn't drop much at all with the 9800np. I took the card back to compusa and exchanged it on a 9800xt, this new radeon owns the 5950 in every way possible and it only needs one slot and has about half the sound from the fan not to mention it is not as long of a card as the 5950 crap was, I had to reroute all kinds of stuff for the 5950. Nvidiots, throw away your money on those worthless nvidia cards all you want, for $500 you are getting a card that performes on about the same level as a radeon 9500pro, and that my friend is no exageration at all.

Has the Call of duty problem been fixed? current workaround is to disable agp fast writes or use cat 3.7

Thank you.. someone with sense at last !! I agree totally mate, its funny that the only PC in my cafe that has game issues at the moment is the one with a 5900U in it... These drivers are great so far.. Cheeky of ATI to release them today, first day of the matrix revolutions release. I bet a lot of european gamers missed the release !
neo-n
Its also funny that at least 2 of them dont have ATI cards.. so how can they comment ?? They cant.. which equals trolls !!
neo-n
Missed release was watching matrix (bad timing ATI !). Anyway, so far they are great, no problems whatsoever, in any game, including ,COD, HL, CS, UT2003, Quake3, Serious sam SE, BF1942, Max Payne 1 and 2, Halo, Elite Force 1 and 2, Morrowind etc etc... so basically no change there then.

Homeworld 2 no longer works for me...back to 3.8s...oh well.

What is your problem ??? What did ATI do to you ?? Face it most people have no problems with ATI cards , only a small minoritiy of people do, where as EVERY FX owner has problems with DX9 (ie doesnt do it half the time). Why do i need proof that i have no problem ? how exactly do i prove it ?? How do these people that have problems prove it ?? they dont . Why is it so hard for you to accept that someone can have an Nforce board and an ATI graphics card, sounds like you are a small minded idiot. It makes it quite clear that YOU are the fanboy. By the way yes i do have a lot of free time, i own a business that someone else manages... jealous ?? I do not 'bash nvidia'. I love the nforce and the GF4 but the FX sucks, if you cant see that you are the blind one. If it upsets you that i have a 9800XT that works perfectly then tough, many of us do . I suggewst you finish your homework , so your teacher doesnt get angry, rather than post garbage on here. Oh why are you posting here ?? If you dont have an ATI card what does the a Catalyst release have to do with you ?
neo-n
You know this how ??? got an ATI card??... no. I do, i didnt have the problem before, i dont have it now. If you have no ATI card you should not be posting here.

What is the CoD bug with Catalysts? I haven't gotten the game yet, now I'm fearful. :(
MuffinMan
Except that with earlier Cats, you CAN run max details and no crashes :)
MuffinMan
Guess what again? Are we talking about the 'crashing' bug? Or the (possible) alpha-texture bug?
MuffinMan
Well, I guess the fact that ATI have acknowleged the crashing problem with 3.8 and 3.9, recommending the use of an earlier driver where the problem doesn't exhibit itself, has shut you and your n00bish idiocy up.
