Nothing surprising, yet I still find myself disgusted at nVidia's behavoir. You'd think after some point I'd just get used to it. :roll: A well documented & done article, nice. :)

How about nVidia give it a rest first? The 'meh' attitude is exactly what nVidia want to see, because it'll basically give them the green light to do as they please without it being contested.

Mathematical differences? How many decimal points? More like Nit-picking to the max. (That testing and result means "less than nothing" in real gaming/operating situation; tell me how your b.s. matter to any customers?) Get a life other than bashing NVIDIA.

I have just visited the site and read the article and viewed the results and screenshots. I have one thing to say, Bullshit!! They found nothing to be making such a big fuss over. I have to agree, get a life and don't let your life's existence hang on what some video card drivers may or may not be doing. This is much ado about nothing!!

How an article that doesn't even mention ATi ONCE is supposed to be defending them is slightly more ridiculous though. Sadly, all these posts have proved that nVidia have achieved what they set out to do - Carry on cheating until it was accepted by the community. To be honest, you guys are missing the bigger picture - If nVidia aren't willing to comply with one developers wishes, what are they doing with the rest? How many other developers are having their game code hacked around with against their will and even without their knowledge. And as a final word of advice to those of you who don't care any more - Don't click the link. It really IS that simple. If you don't want to read about it that's fine by me, ignorance is bliss after all....

For those of you that think this is boring the solution is simple.. STOP READING THE ARTICLES. It may be boring to you but to some people this is new. Almost everyday someone comes into my cafe and finds out this information for the FIRST TIME. Keep up the good work EB. If constantly showing this issue is boring the constant defending of it is at least as bad. Maybe if those of you happy to be ripped off STFU others will stop having to point out the issue everyday. Its really pathetic...

People are being ripped off because they are not getting what they paid for. The are not getting full DX9 most of the time. They are not getting the best looking and fastest. Nvidia is saying they are in a round about way (without saying it directly). That is a lie and its a rip off. Yes its just marketing, but its still wrong. Why buy something thats pretending to be to be what it is when you can have the real thing for less ?? All you guys who think you are so l33t might not care but after its explained to them joe public does, which i think is rather ironic...

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! are you some kind of cyborg with x-ray implants? just admit it, youre only bashing it all the time because youre an ATI owner. if you would think a bit more mature, you would actually see that those optimizations are the only way for nvidia to get close to ATIs right now. if you would be the leader of such an big company you would do the same. otherwise you would go down with your sinking ship or loose a lot of money... they made a mistake and are now trying to compensate it until they get the next chip shipping. interesting how only emotions speak out of such fanATIc posts, you dont even think for a little bit.

well all this 'bashing' has helped getting the word out to 'regular' users... One of the biggest danish computer magazines (Alt om Data) has brought an article about nVidia cheating. the article was not bent any way by nVidia and was very refressingly critical of the way nVidia is handling. plus it even brought Gabe's words about how FX 5200 and 5600 is completely useless when it comes to games using DX9. thet might help the other danish magazines getting their eyes up to the problems and relaying the info to the population as a whole. benchmark specific optimations are horrid, dont tell me that the optimations nvidia are doing to defeat the protection in 3dmark03 is also effective in other games... then they wouldnt have to change it every time 3dmark released a patch...

Well, nah...I just felt like posting something silly up to get a smile out of ya Hanners. :) I really am confused by this backlash of people burnt out on nVidia cheating stories. It ain't anyone dragging up old stuff and re-hashing it, it's nVidia who is finding new ways to cheat and not acknowledging it that I feel people should be angry at. :(
