BUT UPDATE AV SPEED UP SYSTEM ?!?!?!?!? defrag no speedup ??? OK we can discuss that if 10 file outa 20k are fragged it may be a bit useless to run defrag on em ... but one thing is for sure defrag DOES HARM ALSO newer systems .... I just experienced it on my sisters PC which has not been defragged since install of windows the rate was 25% and it ran signifficant faster after defrag ... and huh ? u may use TweakXP ???? whoooooo watta tip to speed up !!!!! the only usefull thing is indexing service .... @writer of the quide .... go home !

I like it, first he dismisses Defragmenters, but then goes on to add they should be used anyway as they improve recoverability, reduce power consumption & heat. Other than that it's a somewhat insulting guide, he constantly refers to "machines used by your customers", well, you know, if you're in that situation then you shouldn't need to be reading state the obvious "tips" like, make sure the drives are all in DMA mode, wow! Bet they never thought of that at Dell.

Even a complete N00b can make that guide. Totally bogus. Defragging will ALWAYS improve seek-time and performance, nothing NTFS can do about that.
