Just spotted this @ Futuremark.com: I just got my hands on a list of magazines that will have 3DMark03 (free version) on their mag cover CD this month.

I noticed @ Komplett.co.uk that ASUS V9990 GeForce FX 5800 Ultra and Non-Ultra model is now available on pre-order. The stock date is yet unconfirmed though. The price? £256.99 inc VAT for Non-Ultra model and £323.17 for Ultra model. This makes a welcome change from the pre-order prices of Gainward Geforce FX which are much higher at this time.

OK, it is time to step up to the plate and take a wee swing at some of the "stuff" that is being said about 3DMark03 by variuos folks and various corporate entities! Before I get going though, let's be very clear as to where my comments are coming from. I am certainly NOT an "expert" in judging the efficiency of rendering techniques, hardware design or game code optimization. But, I can read and I can see one real problem with the critiques of 3DMark03. Not that the authors have made technical errors, as I just noted, I am not really in a position to argue on that front. As you will see, that does not matter in the end.

It would appear, if the countdown is consistant, that 3DMark 03 will be with us at 6pm on tuesdsay (UK time). The first digit takes about 50000 seconds to count down by 1. At the time of writng this (about 12.35pm) there were about 21200000 units left. This equates to 106000 seconds or 1.2268 days, or 29.44 hours. This works out to be 6pm tuesday give or take a few mins !

The poll has an end and it's a more than disappointing result for the Nvidia GeForce FX.
2373 of 2788 people voted with a negative result for the card, the rest is still interested.
That must be more than a warning shoot for Nvidia. We will see how they will react in the future.

Having just noticed Newsfactory post about how much the Ultra version of Geforce FX (from Gainward) will cost in the UK. I thought I will let you know where you can get a good card NOW for nearly half the price of that Ultra Geforce FX model.

The Gainward FX Ultra is now on pre-order sale for £431.34 inc VAT - that's $710.50 USD!!! Maybe its worth it, I let you make that decision but on this page you can get a Radeon 9700 Pro for £232.64 inc VAT & Delivery NOW. Please let me know if you find a cheaper one.

I was just checking out Nvidia's FTP server when I stopped three Geforce FX Zip's in their image_kit FTP folder! I am assuming these are images of Nvidia's Geforce FX , as I haven't downloaded them! If you want to try them out hit Read more.

Tom has his review of the Nvidia FX up.He also has an mp3 of the noise level of the fan-howerer I was unable to find where this mp3 was located.It is mentioned several times in the article.Would be interesting to hear the noise level if any one can find his mp3 download link.
