Undervolting the AMD A64 X2 4200+ AM2 Processor
Today Legit Reviews takes the same processor we overvolted to reach an amazing 3.1GHz thanks to water cooling and go the other direction. We undervolt the AMD A64 X2 4200+ AM2 processor and try to find the lowest possible voltage the processor can run still stable at with the hopes of lowering power consumption and system temperatures.
VGA Cooler Mini-Roundup
Like the CPU industry, prices are rapidly falling in graphics industry -- high-end cards like the X1900 XT can be found for under $350, while the X1800 XT 512MB is below $200 and the 7900 GT is quickly approaching $250. Prices have never been this good. A lot of these high-end cards however generate a lot of noise, and so many enthusiasts are swapping out the stock coolers for aftermarket units and finding that the new coolers generate less noise with lower GPU temps.

That is what various high-ranking sources are telling us. In this scenario, unless Nvidia also managed to triple its pipeline count in the upcoming G80, this chip could lose out big time when put against a 64-pipeline ATI offering.
