Enemy Territory Map Editor Released

Activision has released the map editing tools for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, the free team-based multiplayer first-person shooter by Splash Damage. This GtkRadiant-ET package contains everything needed to create new maps and content for the game, but is not supported by Splash Damage, id Software or Activision.

I was just over at Doomvision when I noticed some new DOOM III screenshots and a scan from this months PCGamer where they chat with ID's Tim Willits about how DOOM III is developing. Willits also comfirms the 4 man mutli-player mode "Last Man Standing" and Deathmatch! Preliminary DOOM III system requirements have been posted by some think tanks and finally they say that the DOOM III demo might be out some time in August (Quakecon?).

BREED Featuring Enhanced Rendering Technology

The folks at Brat Designs have been very busy fine tuning BREED. Though they're still working on the game's multiplayer mode, most of the models have already been refurbished. But that's not all: BREED now features Nvidia's enhanced rendering technology with special CG-shaders that are being used for the new water shader in the game. There are a bunch of new screenshots of how this looks, so check out the official homepage for some fabulous eye candy! Oh my dear ATI, where art thou?

BF 1942: Battle of Britain Map Announced

In this new Battlefield 1942 map, German forces must disable four RAF radar towers as well as the heavily-protected Harwich Weapons Factory on the coast of England. If the British can defend these targets until the German tickets run out, they can wrest victory from the jaws of defeat. With one new vehicle and one new weapon entering the fray, the Battle of Britain is set to be Battlefield 1942's fiercest campaign yet.

BGMod.com reports that they're proud to give you all the 1.2 Windows release. The group worked hard for 3 months on this patch and hopes you enjoy it a lot. The exploiting problems of 1.1 are gone. New maps have arrived. More flexibility for the mappers, new textures, new map models, new scoring systems. The list goes on. This release marks the last major release using classes. The next major release will contain all new weapons and uniform selections.

3DGamers.com reports that it's been a while, for another round of patches for EVE Online: the Second Genesis, upgrading the massively multiplayer online space combat RPG by Crowd Control Productions to version 1105. As usual, you'll only need these manual patches in case the auto-updater doesn't work for you, and details on the changes in this release are not available.

A few sharp-eyed forum people pointed out that Mysterial was playing on the UT2004 test server we posted about yesterday. Mysterial, of course, has made a whole bunch of mutators for UT2003 and is also the guy behind Greed. And now - from what we hear - he's down at Epic HQ working on UT2004! It's always cool to see mod people go pro, so if you're a mod maker, keep up the good work: some day you might be able to sit within spitting distance of CliffyB.
