We stumbled into an NVIDIA ForceWare driver with revision build 60.60 which was of course originally designed for GeForce series 6 (6800).

Station-Drivers reports that VIA Tech has released new drivers for the internal AC97 sound in their chipsets i.e. south bridges T82C686x , VT8231 , VT8233x , VT8235 and VT8237. The version carries the 5.20b number and works on Windows 9x/ME/2K/XP.

Hardware Analysis have a new article out called Nvidia driver cheats? truth or fiction? Here's a snip.

I think the jury is still out on what is the proper way to render frames; both companies have a different approach to calculating textures, doing anti-aliasing and all the other 3D calculations. Thus it comes as no surprise that Nvidia indeed renders scenes differently than ATi does, but where do you draw the line between a cheat, an optimization, a shortcut or an architectural difference?
