It provides on-the-fly burning without creating any temporary files. EasyISO supports Joliet as well as Multisession, Disc Caching and Burn Proof. You can also create bootable CDs and test write before burning. It uses the standard or any other ASPI-driver.

Flash Your Lite-On 24103S/32123S To A 40125S

CDFreaks.com reports that a user of their forum called Maik has posted a firmware on his site that allows you to flash your Lite-On 24103S/32123S to a 40125S. Several people (also two of our moderators/experts) have already confirmed that it works.

I tested Maik's Xsu1.bin with my litey 32123S... Everything seems to be working normally, but now my drive is detected as a 40125S and can write at 40x too in Nero 5.5.9.9... Good work Maik... Now how about 48x???

Well over on the Tdk website they have a link for an official Nero 5.5.9.6 :) so maybe i was hoping you nice people at warp2search could/may post a new link to this Nero so that many people who did not download the new nero in the brief period it was up could download it now officially?... Well i just upgraded my 5590 to 5596 right now, too bad nero's official website does not have it yet, buy luckily Tdk.com did...

Plextor PleXCombo Firmware 1.03 Out

Plextor Japan has released a new firmware for their 20X CD-Write, 10X CD-ReWrite, 40X CD-Read, 12X-DVD-Read ATAPI CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive. Plextor Europe and Plextor USA have not yet updated their pages. The flashing procedure is in english though. Again a new version of the CD copying tool has been posted at the Blindwrite website. As you may know, Blindwrite Suite is a set of 2 programs, Blindread and Blindwrite. As Blindread exists since several years, the previous version of Blindread was numbered 3.2.x.x while the previous version of Blindwrite was version 1.2.x.x. To simplify technical support, and because the last release was a major versio a common version number 4.x for the 2 applications was introduced.

InCD is Ahead Software's packet writing software for CD-RW's. The new version was released on April 26th. With this version an error was fixed, caused under certain circumstances with installed CD/DVD drives. The drives were displayed after the installation of InCD with an exclamation mark in the device manager and were deactivated.

Just saw this @ Doom9.Org!

A new tool makes it possible to actually burn any kind of data in mode2 onto a CD giving you as much space as on a VCD/SVCD. However, this requires that the container format contains error protection, so AVI is a no go. However, ogm, the upcoming mcf and mp4 can be used. Another catch is that currently you need special software to extract the data again. But if we get some filters/players/drivers that can directly access the data on the disc that would allow us to put almost 800MB of ogm/mcf/mp4 data onto a regular 700MB CD.
