InCD is Ahead Software's packet writing software for CD-RW's. The new version was released on April 26th. With this version an error was fixed, caused under certain circumstances with installed CD/DVD drives. The drives were displayed after the installation of InCD with an exclamation mark in the device manager and were deactivated.

Fantom CD is a software for reading CDs and running CD programs without a CD by creating a virtual CD-ROM drive on the hard disk using software methods. This emulator allows you to run CD-ROM applications from your hard drive or network server. In your hard drive space, you can establish and access up to 31 different virtual CD-ROM drives. From the moment you use Fantom CD, there is no more need to search CD-ROMs or load CD-ROMs in the drive.

A new tool makes it possible to actually burn any kind of data in mode2 onto a CD giving you as much space as on a VCD/SVCD. However, this requires that the container format contains error protection, so AVI is a no go. However, ogm, the upcoming mcf and mp4 can be used. Another catch is that currently you need special software to extract the data again. But if we get some filters/players/drivers that can directly access the data on the disc that would allow us to put almost 800MB of ogm/mcf/mp4 data onto a regular 700MB CD.
