Disabling disk caching

The nVidia system drivers seem to enable disk caching to speed up reading files. Unfortunately, they don't do a very good job of this- If you CRC32 a 2GiB file, it will try to cache the entire file in memory, pushing everything else possible into swap.

Memory discrepancy with 256MB GeForce FX 5600

I've actually posted this before within another post about something else but does anyone know why my 256MB MSI GeForce FX 5600 (BIOS vers. 4.31.20.39) shows as having 256MB RAM with the GeForce tab in Display properties, RivaTuner and the MSI utilties but not with DXDiag, SiSoftware Sandra 2003, 3DMark 2001 or 3DM ...

new graphics card problem

ok guys. . i need some serious help my system specs. . Athlon 1800+ (not overclocked) A7n266-E (nforce1 420D) with integrated gfx 256mb pc2100 micron RAM 20GB, liteon writer I needed a gfx upgrade and after checking various forums, I thought a cheap ti4200 would do well for me until those dx9 games come out.

i have just got myself the leadtek winfast 1350tdh lx, only to find an annoying hissing, grinding noise. when the reviews say that the fas are noisy i assume that they mean loud.

Hey what would you (all) choose between HL2 and Doom3 if you can only choose one? an why? For me i will choose Doom III cause doom 1 is my first game. and it impress me the most.

Hello. I need help with yhe following priblem. I have p3 800,256 sdram,gf mx se 64ddr 250/333, drivers 45.23.directx 8.1, via apollo pro,winxp sp1, and in 3dmark 2000 i have 2850 marks , quake 3 at 40fps and major slowdowns in almost all games.

Well I downloaded and installed the latest drivers for the Nforce boards. . . I own and Asus A7N8X Deluxe v2 board and none of the drivers have worked in the past except those released by Asus which were like 1.

Nvidia v52.16 Major Problem

Ok just downloaded the new Nvidia v52.16 drivers from nvidia. com. Installed it, disabled my norton anti-virus, restarted comp and then tried to go into my GeForce Ti4200 Tab but got a error saying, Catostrophic Error.

Detonator 52.16's and DualView

I installed these and found that my dualview would no longer activate. The screens would turn black as if they were changing settings, but the computer would seem to lock up.
