Right I have just been given 475 euros. . . enough for an FX, a 9700 pro, or a 9800 pro maybe. . . so which to get ? I hear the FX beats a 9700.. . but only narrowly.

9700 and DX9

Is Direct X 9 necessary to run the 9700 range of radeons ? (Pro and non-pro). Because last time I installed DX9 (on my geforce 4, beta dx9) I had to reformat my hard drive.

R9500 Pro

I want to buy an ATi Radeon 9500 Pro, and I saw an OEM version that I may buy. Is the OEM vs Retail is a big difference ? I know that some people say that the card is underclocked and all that stuff, but I don't really care if there's 4-5 less fps in a game.

Save yourself the download. . . Goto services under Admin tools, and change UPnP and SSDP Discovery to disabled, reboot and it's shutdown for good. .

FireGL X1 problems

Recently I was given the ATI Fire GL X1 128 Megabyte graphics card. I understand that while this card is aimed at the high end workstation scenario and optimised for opengl based applications, I was wondering if there is a way I can improve the status of games when running them on this card.

ATI 9000 PRO and 2 Monitors in Linux

Has anyone sucefully configured Linux with XFree86 4.3.0 using a ATI 9000 PRO and 2 monitors? My problem is that the 2 monitor just turn off when the mouse go from that monitor to the other.
