I'm getting the following error when I click Properties
on "WMI Control" under Services and Applications on my
WinXP Pro box...

Failed to Connect to because "WMI:
Access denied"

Also, when I click the Advanced tab of my LAN Connection
Properties, the following message is displayed...

"Windows cannot display the properties of this
connection. Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)
might be corrupted"

It encouraged me to use system restore, which I tried to
the earliest point possible, but did not solve the issue.

I also found the following article which instructed me to
delete the repository files and reboot - to no avail.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;319101

In the event log, I'm seeing the following error

Event Type: Error
Event Source: WinMgmt
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4
Description:
Failed to load MOF d:238683759a4ebed6c0dd64c0fcb71a35licwmi.mof while recovering repository file.

Any other suggestions?
