WindowsXP Task Manager Problems

This is a discussion about WindowsXP Task Manager Problems in the Everything Windows category; I have this problem with Task Manager and I don't know how to fix it. What happens is that when I try to get Task Manager up, all that happens is that the little computer icon and box appear in the taskbar but not the text, nothing else happens, the task manager doesn't appear.

I can't end tasks if they crash, nor set different priorities for different programs.

I'm running WinXP with most updates, Internet Explorer 6.

This is the Specs of that computer:

Abit Bp6
533 Celeron
576Meg Ram
40Gig Western Digital HDD
HPT66 1.30 Drivers
SBlive 5.1 DE KXproject 3531 Drivers
TNT2 M64 32Meg 43.45 Det Drivers
Realtek Compatible Network Card
56K Ext Modem
Plustek OpticPro U12 Scanner
CANON BJC-2000SP Printer
IPAQ (Can't Remember its number but it's working fine)

OP
Nevermind now, seems that computer had a virus(Someone used Outlook Express and one of those viruses came onto the computer) and I used NortonAntivirus and it deleted it, rebooted it and now it works perfectly again.

Thanks Anyway.
