i am upgrading my geforce 2 to either to a geforce 4/fx or a ati radeon 9000/9700 pro.

Heres some nice performance comparisons for a range of Nvidia/ATi cards, and at the moment the GF4 is a better bet for bang for yer bucks!

Radeon 9000 pro is cheaper but Geforce 4 Ti is much faster.Geforce 4 ti is worth buying ( the price ratio performance ). If you are comparing with Radeon 9500, i would say 9500 pro is a better choice.
im with squall, 9000 and gf4 ti isnt even in the same class. 9000 is aimed on budget users like gf4mx.

GeForce4 no question about it though nVidia have shown some baad service lately

in "some" benches the GeForce4 Ti's are faster than the 9700pro, but overall the 9700pro is faster in everything else we can say that the 9700pro would match up against FX5800/5900(non Ultras), while the 9800pro would match up against FX5800/5900 Ultras
now as for Radeon 9000s, it is slower than the 8500s, though it has more newer features and revised, 8500 has more power (GPU) considering 9000 wasnt a replacement for 8500s
between the 9000 and TIs, the TIs are faster

the list is based on how much changes you will see compared to your old card the top being the most, to the bottom being the least
being the least you might not even see any changes
