Hi, I believe these people (verisign) issue the online certificate things. Today when I logged onto my hotmail account it came up saying my certificate was out of date.

Then my firewall said some program was accessing the internet and traced it to verisign so I allowed it. Next thing I know I have an advertisement from verisign in my email account saying I have subscriberd to one of the ir partners sites.

Whats going on here? Is this subscription to hotmail? If so Im not to sure I want them giving out my address, or did it get it when this program updated the cetificate (if so how)?

Program was common client CC app and common client windows

I'm running the same as you, i dont use Hotmail but i have noticed today that whenever i log in to online accounts all the Verisign certificates i have installed are comimg up with "there is a problem with this certificate, it is out of date" but i dont get anyother message!

I wonder whats going on as most of the certificates have expirey dates well into 2003!

Glow Worm was in twat mode: i resolved the problems i had with the certificates when i noticed that my calender was showing Jan 2002! Had reset my BIOS and put the year in as 2002 rather than 2003 in error..!
