using an lcd tv as primary display

i am a student who is moving about and rather than lugging about a 30'' crt tv and a 17'' tft i think an lcd tc would work better... my question is this: i play on the 360, a ps2 and the pc but for the pc my gaming resolution is 10*7. will the lcd tv be able to do this without any black lines to the sides ie auto fit the images?
