got long loadingtimes (up to 5 minutes)
or unplayable gameplay ?

this is just because of a "bug" in game
ALL player skins will be loaded even if they are not necessary. This could lead to those problems.
just go into you UT2k4 config and uncheck the preload player skins option.
now hafe fun

mabe I do not know ... I do not even ownt UT2k4 ... I just found this on the web so before anybody asks
And if I would own UT2k4 I would enable it .. preload is cool especially when ya have 1gig RAM .. so you could make use of it :D
