Tv out problems

Hi, I've got a GeForce MX 4000 and I'm having problems connecting it to my tv. I can only get a black and white pic if I plug in the s-video to composite adapter and then use a composite cable from my tv to this.

Hi,

I've got a GeForce MX 4000 and I'm having problems connecting it to my tv. I can only get a black and white pic if I plug in the s-video to composite adapter and then use a composite cable from my tv to this.

I've also got an s-video to scart cable as I was told this might work, however I can't even get a pic with this cable!

Can anyone help please?!

Cheers.

Which country are you in? If you're using a PAL television and you have the graphics card output set to the US format NTSC (perhaps as the default) then you'll get a black and white picture instead of a colour one... try finding/adjusting this setting and giving it another go.

Hmm... if everything is set on PAL then there could possibly be damage to the pins in the S-Video cable - my last cable died because a wonky pin made the display monochrome (not b&w tho, purple...). Got a spare S-Video cable you could try?

fraid not, although it's a brand new cable which seems to be in perfect condition.

so, u tried TVTool?

or, in my great Nvidia Times i had to use both Cables,
a S-VHS- and a Composite AT ONCE at the TV , then i had to change to the right AV Canal and i had Colour TV *smile*
so i had 3 AV Channels, one was B-W and the other was Colour

maybe that helps?
for me it worked

I had a MSI 4800se VTD

the problem is the cable itself !
as it seems some cables are incompatible to some cards/tvs

my friend recently bought some scart to PC cable and it only gave black and white whatever you do ... while just unpluggin the cable and replacing it with one of mines will give him color just as normal ...
so just take back the cable to local store and only use the original one that has to work ...
