There is a way to tweak conexant HSF and HCF drivers, in order to improve modem performance, or stability of your connection. If you are getting low connection speeds and you're sure that you have a good phone line, you cant tweak the drivers in order to get more speed (ex: a person connecting at 31200 bps, can tweak the drivers to get more than 40000 bps...), many more features are offered, so try it yourself.
