can ppl suggest things that i could try to make it work ( im not botherd about RAID, this problem is pi55ing me off as it is)
right, first off, i know how to install the sata raid driver into XP thats easy, but atm this is what i have tryed without success:
memtest on my 1gig crosair - wich found no problems,
768mb of old diffrent ram,
one 30gb maxtor HDD ide,
one SATA raptor at a time,
diffrent AGP card,
3 diffrent versions of XP disc, 2 legit,
2 fans on each SATA HDD, and on AGP card,
BIOS defaults - diffrent memory timings - diffrent AGP MB size,
memory in diffrent banks,
diffrent SATA and IDE cables - rounded and older,
diffrent CD/DVD Rom's,
using the normal ATX power leads instead of the "unknown advantage" of SATA ones's,
other stuff i can't remember...........
the only things i havn't tryed "YET" :::::: >
New CPU heat sink - even though my idle temp is 30c,
trying my older Abit nF7 board,
trying a new PSU - currently using a 460W,
[ well well well im up ****'s creek with no paddles ]
help !!!

I'm using a EpoX 4PCA3+ with two 36GB Raptors configured as RAID0. After the first minutes of installing WinXP, when WinXP tries to boot for the first time, it stops doing anything. There is no bluescreen or error message, it just stops booting.
Unlike you I want RAID so running the Raptors as single drives just to use WinXP is no option. Whatever I tried did not work, for example different BIOS settings, other RAID drivers, WinXP pure and SP1 or SP2 slipstreamed, different BIOS versions and so on.
After even the guys at the EpoX forum were unable to help me I finally gave up and installed good old Win2k SP4 which works without any problems at all.
