Strange problem with a Club3D radeon 9700 np

I've just upgraded from a FX 5200 to this radeon 9700.I get very thin transparent lines going up and down, really visible on a white background. It's annoying when the room where I work is dark (even more visible).

I've just upgraded from a FX 5200 to this radeon 9700. I get very thin transparent lines going up and down, really visible on a white background. It's annoying when the room where I work is dark (even more visible). I mainly get that after booting up windows or when entering/exiting a game, then after a few seconds/minutes it disapears.... Is the card bad? With the FX 5200 I didn't have this problem so I don't think my monitor is bad.

which drivers are you using?.. also did u report this to the seller (from where you brought)?

and was it a clean install of OS ?... or did you just removed 5200 , swapped it with 9700 and started using by installing CAT?

Kyro.

I'm using latest catalyst 3.6. I uninstalled all detonators drivers, removed the FX 5200 and swapped the ati in. I don't think a clean install would solve this issue. No irq is conflicting. Trying to flash my mobo to latest bios now. Could it be my psu that is giving a bad output signal for the ati? I have a 300w psu.

Hey! I had that very same problem, I thought it was because I had another monitor right next to this one, but the lines vanished after a week or so, never seen them since. I have a 430W PSU so I wouldn't think power was any problem, maybe dust in the AGP slot (just kidding) :)

OK. Seems new mobo bios is worse, makes the ati crash. Back to old bios again. Now I understand why ppl hate ati ! Totally clueless if card is fucked or not

2000 xp
512 MB RAM 333 (unknown brand but never gave me a problem)
QDI Kudoz 7X 1.2 bios
Club3D Radeon 9700 np
Sb Live value

Uh oh..

I understand Ur pain. and seeing Ur specs .. 400+ watts PSU is a miust i think .. not regarding Ur prob, but as a safest way to keep RIG humming without any crashes.. also i do think it might also solve the prog.

Do post what u really did to solve this (Threw away 9700,... cursed the seller , got PSU , New Installation, like that ... me going to work .. see U at night )

Someone on Rage3D board got this issue solved by using the DVI to VGA adapter, I tried to do the same, I get blurry windows icons/characters.

A shame this card is giving me problems, tried some games, it really flies even at FSAA 8x AF 16x

I emailed the shop where I bought the card (www.maxpc.nl), let's see what they say :)

I run dualscreen, I thought the other screen interupted the primary one in some way, since they there is only 1 centimeter between them. I never had to solve the problem, because it solved itself in time, strange but true :)
