SoundCard Addon

Hi all I'm here for some advice, I have a Soundblaster Live 5.1 sound card and want to know if theres a device I can use to enable to add speakers/headphones via the front of my PC (just like the Live! Drive you get on the AUDIGY range).

Hi all

I'm here for some advice, I have a Soundblaster Live 5.1 sound card and want to know if theres a device I can use to enable to add speakers/headphones via the front of my PC (just like the Live! Drive you get on the AUDIGY range).

The reason I ask is I was told Creative never released Live Drive for the 5.1!.

Thanx inadvance

Its been awhile since i had a SBlive5.1, but mind did have a connector for a Live! drive on the rear of the card (it looks like an IDE connector for a hard drive).
you might find one used on EBAY.

buying a case like mertsch suggested is also another way to go.

or you can get a Hercules GameTheater series card. thats what i did, the External Deck is really awesome.
you can check this review
and get an idea what the cards like. This card stomps all over my old Live5.1 but its a tad expensive new.. i got mine from EBAY for about 50 bucks though.

oh the hercules also worked in Linux Mandrake for me.. so if your running linux it should work fine.
