sharing and downloading programs

This is a discussion about sharing and downloading programs in the General Software category; I currently use kazaa lite for my peer 2 peer type downloading activity, but was wondering does anyone recomend any other programs (preferably ones without spyware)? Also what about download managers, which ones are the best, again without spyware? Thanks

Most download managers that i know of, without spyware, have to be registered. I currently use flashget which works really well for me.

Shareaza isnt bad either http://www.shareaza.com/ but i use emule more, it might be slow but you certainly find more rare files like really old games that no one sells anymore on the network. The only real problem with shareaza is that it is a leech p2p client it steals sources from other networks and doesnt give any files back and if you use bittorrent it will nicely fuckup your earlier file handler for it.

If you need a very simple looking dl utility you can get the windows port of wget.http://space.tin.it/computer/hherold/. It might not be the easiest to use but if you like minimalist *nix like usage it might be for you.
