Hi guys,

I am searching for a tool which allows to capture the whole screen as a AVI file.

I would like to record some effects from visualisations tools. (WinAmp, Geforce etc.)

Any help would be appriciated.

Try SnagIt from http://www.techsmith.com/

It works quite well for me, and you can configure the frame rate and codec, and add your own watermarks to the AVI's.

I use version 6 myself, but I see 7 has been released. I've yet to try it...

Snagit and HyperSnap are the best two programs for capturing screens and movies of screens (Basic Windows Stuff)...

Both have trouble doing D3D and OpenGL though for doing these use FRAPS...

I use all 3 of these all the time - to bring down the size of these AVI and other file formats use VirtualDub which is Open Source and FREE... You can make the file half or better in size with this...
