Sandra memory test. Score 2 high?
This is a discussion about Sandra memory test. Score 2 high? in the General Software category; I build a new system last night. Amd 64 3800+ with Asus A8V motherboard and Twinx 2x512mb pc3200XL DDR400.I scored 6044mb/s and 6003mb/s on the memory test without any overclocking.

Running @ 2-2-2-5. All the reviews i saw on these memory sticks result in bout 5000mb/s. How come mine is so much higher?

the amd64 could be part of it. memory controller in cpu makes it fly.
try using the latest 2004 SP2 ...
there should be some new reference systems ... and yes due the integrated mem controller the score should be higher

3800+ has built-in memory controller - best part of it is it is DUAL channel (the same memory controller AMD 64 FX53 has). And the same memory put in that 3800+ (and FX53) will work faster than in ANY Pentium 4 dual channel.
FYI first AMD 64's have just single channel memory controller.

I get higher than those scores on my stock fx-53, so your probablly spot on. I remember when i first benched it and my 2.4c @3.3 wasnt even CLOSE. I mean by thousands of points. Gotta love these new amd chips.
