RedFaction2 mouse lag
Ok I know it's Off-topic but it's not marry christmas but MERRY Christmas! Beside that Happy New Year to all of you!

Is this only happening to me or does anybody else get a bad mouse lag when playing RF2? The game menu only offers sensitivity settings, no sharp tuning, mouse filtering or such. Anybody got some suggestion?

let's say my PC is a solid mid-class system (KT266A, GF2 Pro, AXP 2000+, 1 Gig'o'RAM, PC2100). I strongly doubt it's too slow for the game, cuz I can play Unreal2, UT2K3 etc with no such problems. My mouse is set to 200 Hz and 300 Input queue, so I think I'll have to wait for another RF2 patch, I cannot play this way, it's too bad.

Yes that is a pretty decent system. 8) You might wanna also try and check your framerates. I dont know if there is a way to check ingame...but if not then do a search for a program called fraps. It will display a realtime fps reading while your in the game. Works with all games ive tried it on so far. If your getting low framerates...that could be a key. Does the mouse lag get better at lower resolutions?? I know that Red Faction 2 is a pretty heavy hitting game. Im thinking maybe that the game is really stressing your GF 2. Your probaly right about waiting for a new patch. :wink: Also..have ya tried the usb port just for shits and giggles?? :lol:

Yeah your right, the GF2 is a low end card today and of course it's stressed pretty much by newer games. Anyway my framerate with the recommended settings is ok @ 1024 and up +32 Bit colordepth. I know Fraps and I'll check it out but in general it runs above 30 fps. I got used to such framerates, Unreal2 as well was very slow in some scenes (around 11 fps) but I'm not a wiener so I went through it, hehe. But there never was a problem with the mouse, I think thats a game issue. And my mouse is PS2, not USB and connectors are clean.

No.. :cry: I havnet tried that one yet. I mainly play UT2003, and im slowly learning the editor to make maps. I also play F1 2002 and a mod for it called GTR 2002. If you like race sims....then this is a Freaking MUST HAVE! Never have i played a game so fantastic ...let alone a mod. GTR Rocks!! Ferrari 550s, Porsche 996 turbos, and 993s, Diablos and Marcos, Pagani Zonda all on F1 road racing coarses and more addon courses. Addon cars...all kinds of great stuff!! Last i saw there was way over 100 addon cars of all classes. 24hr, GT, NGT , NGT-24hr. If i sound like im going on a bit.... I AM!!!! The best race sim addon out there is GTR 2002 for F1 2002. Theres also a program called F1rst that finds servers for all the mods just like gamespy but without all the crap! Give it a go man. didn't know there are mods for F1. Indeed I like car sims and I think I'll check it out. Sadly I ain't got no momo force, just a plain old gamepad (dual analog at least). according to ya excitement this mod must be real mindblowing, so why not :)
