After you've read all about your CPU and have the numbers, try this web site to get the full scoop on when the chip was made and find out whether or not if it started out life as a different chip (down-graded).

http://mp3.zonebg.com/cpu/cpu.php

My XP-2100 actually started out life as an XP-2800 but apparently didn't meet spec so it was "re-marked" as a 2100. It'll hit better than 2.6 GHz @ 1.85 volts (stable as a rock too) but I don't run it that fast (I want it to last a while).

Merry Christmas

a btw .... that article you mean ... I remeber it now... it was not the link above ... you mean a very detailled article about any part of the code .... its gone !! first the removed pics due heavy traffic the the article got fully lost ... whatta shame was a supreme article ..... but the most important thing to know now is when you go barton ... go AQXEA and under 0339 .... some will tell you this stepping is better other this ... AQXEA there is the chance very high to get a very good stepping ...
