im building my self a brand new PC, it will be my first time...i know nothing about graphic cards and and again it will be my first time buying one, and the Radeon 9700 PRO or Geforce FX 5900 are probably the best cards i can get in my price range(£200).
i suppose these to graphic cards are on a par with one another(do correct me if im wrong)?
-which is better vaule for money
-which handles games better
-which handles 3D graphics software better(3D studio max etc...)
-which handles Video playback better(DVD etc...)

Value for money - Cheapest one
Games - I personally prefer ATi.
3D graphics - I can't say anything on that unfortunately.
DVD, etc - Don't know, I think both are on par.

a no-brainer, get the ATI card. better image quality, quieter, and a 9800 Pro (instead of the 9700 Pro) should be even cheaper now that the XT cards are out. I have both nvidia and ATI cards, the ATI's have the best image quality by far...
I wonder how often this question will be asked again here .... thats not normal I think there are 10 threads already now ....
