is this card meant to br this slow?
i 'upgraded' from a gf4 mx coz the visuals stink on that (i had a 5900 in between but sold it coz ive been lured by the 12000 score of the 6800)
this is a temporary solution till the next gen cards will b on the market and affordable
i installed unreal 2 and i let it autodetect setting; its really slow and choppy
the rest of my sys is:
p4 2ghz
512 mb RAM
XP pro with sp1
is this card meant to be slower than a gf4mx or the old geforce 3? i cant find any direct comparisions
please help

wow that card is really damn slow LMAO ...
but didn't u know that ... those cards are just passiv cooled and just like the FX5200 its an office card ...
but to have a look the frame rates ...
1. take www.3dcenter.org/atuner and set everything in the 6 fields to OFF! or application ...
2. make sure shadows are off in UT/any other game

i knew it was slow; as i sed its a temporary upgrade from an mx coz i want 2 save my money and get a new generation card
if atis budget is a slimmed down 9800 like the 9000 was an 8500 i will hopefullty be able to get an athlon 64 this summer.... just gaming with this is so bad....
lol!! u will never buy one then!! you need to start somewhere, and with today's price/performance ratio there isnt a better time!
stop waiting and being a cheap skate ....
Wow lol.....sounds to me that you seriously bought this card to be a big performer and your mom said she would only spend 99.99 on you. If you seriously thought a 9200 would be capable of pulling 12,000 in 3dmark '01, then I really dont think you would know how to build an AMD 64 correctly. Im not here to put you down though...this is just my opinion....GOD I LOVE FORUMS!!!
yeh Dredlock i kind of know that its a budget card... it was £39- dont mean to diss u but i dont scab off my parents money, kind of grew out of that when i was 12... :finger:
whats the point of spending £200 now when in a month that £200 is gna get u a lot more bang for ur buck?? the 9600pro actually beats the ti4600 with all the nice AA + AF enabled, which is more important than pure speed.
i think i 4got 2 mention it but i have exams so im only light gaming. i just wanted to know if the card is MEANT to be that slow- this is a temporary card...

woooooooo woooooooooooo
cool down !!!!
if this ain't going to stop here I will stop this ...
damn its just a GPU not a girlfriend ... so shake hands and be friends
I was in sucha situation once, too
everyone could do a fault when expecting something else then you got ... hey this happens any day any time
I upgraded from a GF2GTS to a MX440 and whooo I payed losta bugs for it but the performance increase was like 5% ? ... argh the only thing now useful on this card was the damn TV Out ... at least I could make use of this one

I just wanna say...the only good use for an ATI 9200 is inside a notebook over an FX 5200....ohh and to the guy with the 9200 probs.....have you gone into your BIOS and altered your AGP Apature size at all...or enabled fast write...or maybe have it on the right agp speed? I belive the 9200 is a 4x
Mertsch lol ur a joker!!!!
yeh ive dun everything i can with it. im not overclocking as there really is no point.
i guess im probs upset coz the last card i had in here was a fx5900; as i sld it for more than i brought it i shouldnt be whining :hmm:
dredlock i think ur right this isnt even a light gamer card... its crap; i guess i did get my panties in a twirl...
u get what u pay for....

Personaly i like ATi's better for image quality , sure they dont have the same speed as an nVidia card but each compnay has to have different experties to be competitive in this day and age,
My Laptop;
P4 3.20Ghz HT 800FSB
1Gb 333Mhz Corsair Ram
40Gb 4200rpm Fujitsu HD
ATi Mobility Radeon 9600 128Mb
My Pc;
AMD 2Ghz 2400XP+
1Gb 333Mhz Corsair Ram
2x IBM 120gbs ata100, 1 x Maxtor 40gb ata133 HD's
ATi Radeon 9600XT 128Mb
Both systems run Unreal Tournament 2004 on FULL/HIGHEST GFX , ok laptop is slow cause HD and PC slow cause CPU/HD's
but they run flawlessly which is what counts to me and both these sytems are my first ATi Cards, i ve had nVidia cards since they made the dam TNT2 Model 64 and Geforce 256 Pro (those where the days hey ???? )

ok now im relly confused
i load up unreal tournament 2003 with 2xAA and 16X AF with default settings ie 800*600 and i got massive amounts of corruption
i tried again 3 times; without AA/AF it was ok
now i just tried it after leaving it off for a few hours with AA/AF and no problems.
im beggining to think my RAM is the culprit. i ran memtest up to 73% before i lost patience and its found no errors. i also did the bios check thing and thats fine
what the hell is going on :knife: ?????
