Have just upgraded my faithful Pentium III 600 PC.
Spec now as follows:
Pentium 4 2.53Ghz.
Intel D845GVBL Mainboard - Intel 845 Chipset, Integrated 10/100 Lan, Integrated AC97 Audio, Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics.
GeForce 4 Ti4200 AGP Graphics.
512Mb DDR RAM.
Windows 98SE.
Now not being impressed by the AC97 Audio I installed a SB Live Platinum (SB0060), disabling the AC97 in BIOS. The SB Live is detected, installs the drivers. I can install the software version 5.1 from website. All indications are the card should be giving out sound, but it does not. Have tried with on-board graphic as well as with the AGP card installed. I have tested the card in another system (Intel Celeron Based) running Windows 2000 and latest drivers from website and it works fine.
Have just done a complete Win 98SE clean load, then drivers for Mainboard Chipset, Graphics, etc... the SB Live yet again causing the PC to "Black Screen" and die Whilst loading the desktop. If I switch the graphic card to std vga mode (16 Colours) then I get an Exception error instead of the "Black Screen".
Any ideas before I go more bald than I am already?

Thanks for the replies.
X-Gamer 5.1, MP3+ 5.1, Player 5.1, Digital Entertainment 5.1 and Platinum 5.1 are all listed as being SB0060 cards, not sure exactly which one this is. Only says Live 5.1 in the corner of the card.
There are no drivers embedded into Windows 98 SE for this card, leastways none I could see.
