Well it runs very smooth on mine, i'm using Dets 40.72 WHQL , GeForce4 4200, Pentium 4, 512MB, 1.6Ghz, and had no promlems yet, ran a lot of test including movies, games, apps, nothing went wrong yet

how did you do the installs with DX 9 RC1,2 and DX9 Final? did you use a utility to uniinsall them before installing the new ones? or did you just install one over the other? and does anyone know if DX eradicator works on DX9?

Sorry to hear you are having problems. I had issues with dx9 also the dvix files played draggy. to make the story short I uninstaledl the old drivers at the virus warning screen I paused to think no virus scanner when in safe mode so I rebooted in safe mode. installed the drivers(41.09). restarted the machine no divx problems and ran 3dmark my jaw droped at the score {12518} my normal score under (dx8.1 /40.72) was {10489} thought it make be a fluke so reinstalled the drivers in normal mode virus scanner disabled the 3dmark score plummeted to {10643}.
Went back to the safe mode install and scored an average of {12500}
on 5 runs through 3dmark. hope this helps you out.By the way you didn't specify your OS. This was done on Windows Xp SP1

I figured since this in an error thread I'd add my Dx9 error as well.

Whenver I try to run a Direct play test on TCP/IP I get a critical error with ntdll.dll. Never happened with Directx8.2. IPX tests fine just TCP/IP screw up. Any ideas why? I also can't run my Sidewinder GameVoice software because of this.

sorry, could u explain to me what to do again. i had directx9rc2 installed before. is there any uninstaller? i think i still got directx 8.1 installed i have WinXP Pro SP1 and on 41.09 i have 10350 in 3dmark and with directx9 also the same score. please give me a hint what to do to solve divx and performance problems. I also noticed that there are only 2 test tabs in "dxdiag" on tab display: test direct draw, and test direct3d. Before i had third tab that was something about agp texturing test. any opinions?THANKS

Here"s the run through.

1. In normal mode uninstall the nvidia driver through control panel (addremove)

2. the machine will reboot press F5 choose to boot in safe mode.

windows will install microsoft nvidia drivers (It's no problem).

3. install release canidate 41.09 detonators

4. reboot to normal mode.


I also had rc2 DX9 on my machine just installed over it.

One more thing I use the xvid codec for my divx.and mediaplayer9.

When I try to install DX9 final release it says that the software is not signed by microsoft??? and fails to install. im running xp pro 2400+ XP processor radeon 9700 pro msi ktv4 mobo 768 megs of pc2100 on SP1. I checked my securities and have it set to ignore if not digitally signed?? I have the catalyts 3.0 drivers for vid card
