Poor Asus Support - Questions Regarding A7S333
This logo is fake, it even says so right in the caption. .

Unfortunately I feel it important to express my (dissatisfied) opinion on the highest priced MB manufacturer.
My request was quite simple - it was regarding the A7S333's latest BIOS update's (ver 1006) release notes. The release notes state that bios version 1006 adds support for more CPUs, however the current 'CPU compatibility' chart only reflects bios versions up to 1005.
So what I did was simple - I sent them an educated, well typed email - asking them what new CPUs were supported as of BIOS 1006, and MB rev 1.04.... Here was the response I received:

Dear Customer,
Thanks for choosing ASUS tek.
A7S333 can support to Athlon XP 2600+(266M FSB, mode 8) with bios
version 1004 or later, if you want to use Athlon XP processor with
mode 10 your motherboard PCB version must be 1.03 or later and bios
version 1005 or later, Please refer to the URL:

Please download the bios from the URL:

What we have here is one of three problems... They are stupid, they do not care, or they do not understand english.
All I can say is that I will not purchase, or recommend, any other Asus products due to their incompetence.
Lets's hear about it from the people who have similiar experiences with Asus, and perhaps get the attention of the suits. And while I'm at it, tap the best resources on the Internet, get the answer I'm looking for.
Cheers

They propably made a mistake on the CPU support page. I think they incorrectly mention 1005 as the required bios for model 10 support. I think it should have been 1006. 1005 doesn't add any CPU support but fixes an issue:
Fix CPU frequency is not correct in the bios setup menu when using Athlon XP2000+. While 1006 does add added CPU support:
Support new CPUs. Please refer to our website at: http://www.asus.com.tw/support/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx.
e-mailing Asus's tech support is a complete waste of time. The only way to quickly get a RMA from them is to call them on the telephone-at your expense because they don't have a toll-free number. I have a dead A7V-133 that's been gathering dust for a month now because I don't feel like calling them but HAVE to soon in order to get it replaced.
BTW, the absolute best tech support I have ever gotten has been from Plextor and Corsair...
