poor 5900xt performance
Why bother - paul@viahardware. com gets all the l8est bioses the second they're released and releases his modded versions with l8est hp bios soon after. . . .

i have just got an Aopen FX 5900xt and im benchmarking it and i only get 190 FPS in quake3. thats in 1024x768, 32bit, high quality etc
my pc spec is:
XP barton 3000+
768mb 333Mhz ddr
KuDoz 7X/600 motheboard
Aopen FX 5900xt
im using the newest drivers for everything and even tried old drivers. ive tried in windows ME and windows XP with no change.
this spec gets 254fps
AMD XP 2600+ Throughbred/2800+ Barton
Leadtek K7NcR18D Nforce 2
256mb 3200 Crucial DDR
ive tried other benchmarks with the same find of results!

u disabled any tools like AV or something?
is in bios an option like ECC Error Check? if yes disable

the only thing i have running is MSN no AV software or anything like that. the only option for ECC is the L2 CPU ache
ok.....any other probs with ur pc, like slowdowns?
or is it only if playing games/benchmarks?
ECC for L2 always enable, take hands off it :-)

nope nothing else wrong, i just goet poor fps rates in games/benchmarks :hmm:
i tried to update the bios to 1.3 but it said something like unknown bios file :S

and there i saw, that
maybe it´s "too slow" , but i´m not sure!
if possible, try another GFX first in ur 2nd PC and then on ur KuDoz 7X/600 and then compare

5500 is fully OK ...
btw I did NOT mean AGP 8x look for agp size ... it contain a MB value going from 4 or 8 to 256 or 512
mhhh....i read an article years ago, and the end was, it does not matter , how big the size is, only if under 32mb than the performance is dropped some frames
But people said anymore than 128 is useless :/
hhhmmmmm i get 42214 in aquamark3 so it looks like its on par apart from Q3 (witch is what i play) DOH! oh well thanks for your help i think i will have to live with it!

do u feel any differences between 190 and 250 fps?
i don´t think so
and if the points in other progs are like other PC with ur card
then i think everything is ok *smile*
and i think no game is a Dia-Show, so i think , no prob because of a drop by 60 frames in Q3
