Hi, Ive recently noticed the beggining of a lot of my sound files seem to slow down when I play them in media player 9 (sort slur a bit when i start playing them). Has anyone else experienced this, or know how to fix it?

I tried installing those kazaa codecs to see if that helped but to no avail.

My machine:

athlon 2200+
k7s5a (3.1)
512mb crucial 2100 DDR
Diamond max ata 80 5400
asus v8200 deluxe Geforce 3

SB Live player 5.1 with inspire 5.1 speakers
pionneer dvd and lite on CDRW

Windows xp sp1 (and all additional updates from the update site)

i get the same problem and i aint found a solution to it bar using system restore and getting wmp7 back

dont think ur system specs make much of a diff eaither.. my 1.4 athlon (now in cpu heaven ) did it as does my reserve duron 750 all diff memory and mainboards.

Its really annoying .. yet in other mp3 proggies the same file works ok..
must be something to do with the way mp9 caches the files b4 playback.

if like bryearch said if anyone knows y this happens and has a fix write here asap

ive also noticed that some of my mp3 files wont play at all yet in mp7 and creative playcenter they work fine.

Cheers

ps bryearch what sound drivers u using.. im using the hacked audigy 2 drivers for my audigy 1 platinum board.. probs turn out to be a crappy creative driver problem. Not like thats ever happened b4 ;)

OP
SB Live Driver version:

Creative
24/07/2002
5.12.2.252

I tried installing the unofficial newer version on windows media player 9 (2991) but this didnt help (and for some reason system restore wont restore anything).
