I have overclocked my AMD Athlon XP 2400+ to 2700+. I want to know that how far can anyone clock the 2400+ with what heatsink, coooler and watercooler or anything else with the result of not only speed but stability as well.

The only way to get results is to try it man.
I think you could hit 3000+ with water cooling, no problem, maybe 3200+ easily
2800+ with air cooling a volcano 11 or a SLK900

Are those wonder fans (volcano?) expensive?
I could do with overclocking my 2100+ but I don't know if they are easily overclockable... nor how much I can clock..

You could probably clock that 2100+ to 2500+ easy with a volcano

I can hit 2.6GHz on my XP 2100 but I run it at 2.5GHz the vast majority of the time. That's with a 226 watt TEC water block though (Peltier device), superb air flow the case, superbly stable power supply voltages (the TEC water block has it's own 350 watt Mean-Well 12 volt power supply) and two radiators with 2 fans each on them.
Stability at 2.5 GHz is as stable as I've ever seen and I can run it at that speed for months at a time without a single glitch. At 2.6GHz it's stable enough to run every benchmark known to man (or woman) but for day-to-day operation using REAL-world applications and games, it just doesn't cut it and locks up from time to time.
So, for my CPU it seems to be 2.5GHz. I have no idea what that is in those other goofy numbers AMD has adopted though. Does ANYBODY in here know? How do you convert from TRUE speed to "AMD rated speed"? What's the number for a 2.6GHz AMD chip? How 'bout a 2.5GHz chip? Inquiring minds want to know!

how far you can OC you got to try urselfe ... CPU differ extremely!
mine for example ... the OC result you can see below ...up to this point ... in my eyes impressive but if I want to go any higher I have to raise the VCore to 1,8 or higher just for another 100MHz ... so I say ... at this point it is 100% stable and OC 1 or 2 % is not worth the Voltage

Are volcano's the best, and cheapest air cooling possibilities?
Or can I go better for more money on air cooling (water will be too expensive for me)
