Maybe we should rely on another benchmark proggy but wich one?
My experience with the 41.09s sucked big time.
PC Specs: P4 2.4B GHz, Gigabyte 8IEXP, 768Mb DDR, GeForce4 Ti4200.
3D Mark 2001 SE Results:
40.52 Detonators = 10414
41.09 Detonators = 9354
More that 1000 3D Marks lost !! Based on my score, I'd say the 41.09s suck.
CJS.... I would look at your computer... Your score of 10414 with what you say is 40.52 drivers seems low for a P4 2.4 GHz... Although I am noticing that most of you people here only give final scores which seems ridiculous to me as we have no idea which tests people are running & if its set to high detail, low detail, anti aliasing on or off & if on what setting, anisotropic settings, Z buffer depth, ect, ect...
People!! Include all the info from 3DMark.. How can we make a comparison with nothing but a final score??? It is possible to add your scores to the net & then just provide us with a link... Final scores mean nothing if we can't see what's going on...
For instance here is a link to a 3DMark test I just ran...

A disturbing trend has emerged with the 4x.xx series of the Detonators...
As a new driver is released, the 3DMark performance is downgraded...
The 40.41s were somewhat amazing compaired to the 30.82s but when the 40.72s were released, 3DMarkers were somewhat disappointed as the driver docked a reasonable amount of 3DMarks off their previous score.
The 41.09 cut more 3DMarks but support DirectX 9, so it may be worth giving them a try with DirectX 9 and seeing how your 3DMark score increases or decreases.

Well I always thought the best way was to use DEFAULT settings for testing - which is the best way to make sure we all have the same benches.
yes when you install new drivers the OC settings are lost..So be carefull with that. For me 41.09 combine quality with speed. 9726 marks with an
MSI GF4Ti4200/64 (Athlonxp1700+256DDR2100) and nothing OC..This is a very good score for a Ti4200 (250/513)
I have the same PC as you, apart from the fact I have an Athlon 2100+...and only get 200 extra points :/
Same GPU speeds, RAM speeds.
