NOCD for GTA: Vice City
This is a discussion about NOCD for GTA: Vice City in the General Gamers Place category; Hello, i was just wondeirng if there was a way i could copy the whole cd over for GTA:VC juts like how it was done in GTA3 so my computer doesn't have to load the CD during gameplay.

Actually...there are a lot of places to my knowledge that put it out friday...
it can't be a dead give away, because if someone downloads it a noCD "patch" is provided with it :wink:

the crack is not a NOCD, just a removal of copyprotections.

What you CAN do is use cloneCD or something like that on ANYCD, not a pirated cd or anything like that, and record it to a ISO, Or a BIN
THEN use daemon tools to mount it as a drive,

Some people just can't answer a ficken question so they just waste peoples time by posting something stupid... El_Coyote, since when is making a backup or an image of a game and using a NOCD crack pirating? Did i ask how do i burn a copy of it and sell it for Profit? NO!! Did i ask where i can download it? NO!! I asked if there was anyway of playing the game without inserting my stupid CD!! If you dont know the answer dont post anything...thx guys for the replies so far....

I usually just grab a patch at megagames.com ..most people who know anything about the subject know to go there or gamecopyworld (which sucks because it just links to megagames for half the games anyway) and make an image of whatever cd I need and mount it with daemon tools if it needs the CD after a NoCD patch.
Daemon tools is a POS, I tried it about a year ago but could not get any support when it didn't work.
well since software companies rate NOCD's the same as piracy, i dont see why we should do it any differently?

well.. we all know how happy americans are about lawsuits.. im just trying to point people to what this site's about - tech news - rather than pirating, cause if this continues there'll be a chance the site will be sued if publishers notice, especially with the huge "NOCD" title on the front page under forum threads.
Epic Game's UT2K3's latest patch includes a no cd patch as part of its functionality. So do you believe that Eoic Games are pirates for releasing such a patch? 8)

Wrong Epic Games kept asking the publisher if they were allowed to release a no cd patch as part of an update patch and they only just agreed for the latest patch.
I take this point of view since, its always more akward with a cd hogging your drive all the time and if a person has a legitimate copy then the no cd patch should be their choice.

most NOCD patch actually improve game performance, but mostly for games that check the cd every few seconds
most likely they NOCD are intended for:
dont like cd drive hogging cd (yes, most people dont like the cd hogging the drive ask for the cd everytime you start the game)
improving gameplay (yes i have some games that check the damn drive every second)
and/or Piracy (no one does this, who would do such a thing :evil:)
