I just built a new PC:
AMD XP 2000
Asus A7N8X
512 MB DDR Corsair Ram
SB Audigy
PNY GF 4 Ti 4200 64mb
Win XP Pro
Prior to building this PC, I was using a 32mb Riva TNT 2 Pro card w/ the latest drivers from nVidia. I was able to go into the nView console and tweak my brightness/contrast/etc to my liking and save it as "game" or something. I like my games a bit brighter than normal.
But for some reason, I'm unable to do so w/ this new set up. When I go into nView's console, I can slide these settings around, my my display doesn't change at all. I'm using the same monitor that i've always used (a Gateway EV900?).
I'm using the most recent Detonator driver. I tried the XP/2000 driver from nVidia, but it didn't seem to work either. I must be able to tweak my brightness. It's almost like the card has absolultey no connection to the monitor. I'm not even sure if the card controls the monitor, or the OS. The bottom line is, this should work and it doesn't.
I'm a newbie, so please excuse my lack of info. I should also say that I believe my MOBO drivers are up to date. My mobo chipset is the nForce 2.
Thanks!
Jason

I found that if I go to the Display Mode>Device Settings, it is THERE that the brightness can be controlled and saved as "game". NOT the Overlay Control Tab. I'm really not sure what that tab is for, as nothing is responsive. My buddy says the same thing... and he has the exact same card as me. Doesn't work for him either.
